We have some tips to help you get ready for air conditioning season and ensure optimal cooling system performance.
CLEAN YOUR SYSTEM: Schedule your AC clean and tune-up with a professional NATE certified HVAC technician. Our technicians will thoroughly clean the inside and outside of your air conditioning unit, inspect all of the components and ensure that everything is operating at peak performance. You as the homeowner can ensure that the area around your air conditioner remains free of debris, keep the grass cut short around the unit and remove all sticks and leaves surrounding the unit.
CHANGE YOUR FILTERS: For optimal performance you should be changing your system air filters every 30 days. Your filter collects germs and bacteria, that begin to clog the filter. A clogged filter decreases the efficiency of your air conditioner by decreasing the air flow and causing your air conditioner to run longer. A clogged filter will also cause more dust in the home that leads to poor indoor air quality. This can cause allergy flare ups. A good tip to remember is at every daylight savings time when you change your smoke and carbon dioxide detector batteries, change your thermostat batteries also. This will allow you to control the temperature in your home when you are away by programming the system to cool your home throughout the day without having to make any adjustments.
